Dear Members of the Midwest Surgical Association:

The 54th Annual Meeting of the Midwest Surgical Association will be held at the Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena, IL from August 7-9, 2011.

ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION & HOUSING INFORMATION
The MSA meeting materials, housing and registration form are enclosed. Please review and return with payment at your earliest convenience. The housing form must be returned directly to the Eagle Ridge Resort by July 7, in order to secure hotel accommodations and group rates.

Please also consider attending the Sunday afternoon postgraduate course offering, entitled Midwest Surgical Hernia Update 2011- From the Latest BioMaterials to Simulators to Practice your Techniques: To Become the "Best in the Midwest". The cost is $75 and includes CME.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS
We encourage you to consider sponsoring a new member in the MSA. The online application may be found at midwestsurg.org/join.htm. Application materials and sponsorship letters should be forwarded to the MSA office at the address listed below. Applications will be reviewed by the membership committee prior to the Annual Business Meeting.

PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGES
Please review the proposed bylaws changes. These changes will be presented to the membership for official vote at the Annual Business Meeting in Galena. Changes include a revision to the current Recorder term, as well as the addition of an Associate membership category. We welcome your feedback.

As always, children are welcome at all annual meeting social events. The council reminds parents of their responsibility to supervise their children's conduct throughout the meeting.

President Albrecht, the entire Council and I look forward to welcoming everyone to the Eagle Ridge Resort for this year's superb scientific and social programs that are sure to offer something for everyone.
